Re: Cadillac Message Board
butterflylover,
You can get in touch with the cadillac winter warriors. They have a website with phone numbers if its on on thier yet the date , time and location. We all usually meet at the entrance to hemlock park(hope we don't get in touble for it) . A dinner usually follows later that day. Let me know if you need more info.
Re: Cadillac Message Board
I would love to help with the clean-up. When is it and will it be advertised in the local media? What shall we bring and where will we meet?
Re: Cadillac Message Board
The Cadillac Winter Warriors always does a trail clean up on all of pole rd. Sure would like to have a one on one talk with Robert Bise as we pick up 98 percent of the trash from the people who live on pole rd. Hey Robert!!!! Care to show up and help out for a worthy cause?????
Re: Cadillac Message Board
we all went riding on our ORV's today. had a great time. trails are in good shape for them. only ran into a hand full of snowmobiles.
Re: Cadillac Message Board
Put a fork in it the riding is done for this year. No more trips out to lost pines, no cops at the four way, no hemlock park games and especially no more robert bise. Have a great spring everyone
Re: Cadillac Message Board
what do you want them to groom? the dirt?
Re: Cadillac Message Board
Can we get the groomers to groom the shoulder of pole rd. I am getting tired of the rolloer coaster ride to get to the trails. How do we contact?? MSA??
Re: Cadillac Message Board
I am going to cancel my Sunday newspaper subscription. I'll just check this blog for comic relief.
Re: Cadillac Message Board
Yes, Coyote Crossing did sell last Friday. The new owners seem to be very eager to begin improving the resort as well. They are adding wifi and dish tv to all the cabins right off the bat as well as begininng to put together specials and packages that will be directed towards specific interests.
Re: Cadillac Message Board
And the story keeps growing.
Re: Cadillac Message Board
I'm glad robert bise had the time to fact check our confrontation with the wexford recreation officer- after being stopped on the lake at 10pm Saturday on NASF weekend. He followed us off the lake (looks like he was heading in for the night) As we crossed the campground he met another sled (probably the other officer and they took off together- probably to head in for the night!)
WE are tired of robert bise also. On a more positive note- How are the trails holding up? I hear the snow keeps missing cadillac. Also Is it true coyote crossing has a new owner as of last friday?
Re: Cadillac Message Board
In response to: 'tired of robert bise'
The problem is that the message written by 'shorty' seems to be false. Here is why.
I was recently talking with an employee of the wexford sheriff department. We happen to get on the topic of snowmobiling. I asked if they knew if the snowmobiling deputy was working on the NASF weekend, specifically Saturday night at 10:00 pm ALONE. The employee looked into it and got back with me. Apparently the snowmobiling deputy was paired up during the night time hours and they ended their patrols around 10:00 pm in order to get back to the department and clock out at 11:00pm.
So, if you read the "true experience" of 'shorty', it just does not add up.
This blog is better than the comics section of the Sunday newspaper.
Re: Cadillac Message Board
WOW! It was hot today. Thank goodness for my liquid cooled Apex. No, not really. At least not yet. Perhaps in middle of March I will be thankful for the liquid cooled motor.
We need snow people. The dirt doesn't really lubricate the slides as much as the snow does. HaHa.
Lets talk about the widgets that we all have seen for sale on the trails. Who is making these little guys and what do they actually do? The price didn't seem too bad, however, as stated earlier, I am not sure what I would do with one. You?
If you ask me, I think it would look good on my mother-in-laws coffee table next Christmas. Or, I was thinking of taping it to the dash of my station wagon. That furry little thing would look good staring back at the driver.
Okay, enough about the widgets for sale on the trails. When are they going to make the connector trail/bridge from Mesick to Thompsonville? I hear all of the talk and don't know of anything productive happening. Anyone have information on it? Would like to hear about it.
See you on March 3rd.
Re: Cadillac Message Board
THIS is s message board so why not let the people tell thier true experiences on thier sleds.? Not just what you want to hear robert. If you don't like what your reading go someplace else.
Re: Cadillac Message Board
I posted the below message about two weeks ago. Looks like the moderator is again going back on their word again.

Here is what was posted 1 week ago by NORTH GUIDE:
We've closed the discussion on police enforcement on the snowmobile trails.... it's turned into a back and forth of personal attacks.... thanks for all the points that everyone made.... anyone who has a new point to discuss please post it.

Well, so much for the end of the discussion on police enforcement. Whoever is responsible for this blog apparently talks out of one end and then the other the next week.
It is getting old, the complaining about the laws and such.
Anyone can post on this blog. There is no accountability or REAL names or email addresses needed. Many posts seem to be suspicious in different ways. I use to enjoy reading the posts people would add, however, things are a changing so it seems.
Will be interesting to see if NORTH GUIDE stands by their previous statement.
Sincerely,
Robert Bise

Re: Cadillac Message Board
Thanks for getting back on this. Let's all help them out by stopping in and spending some cash this weekend. We want to keep good establishments and don't patronize the ones that don't support us!

Re: Cadillac Message Board
Keepin it local,
They are in foreclosure, this much is true, but its not due to lack of support by "people like me". Its due to a life changing event that happened to one of the investors in the project that is no longer able to run the place full time. Currently, there are two purchasers interested in purchasing the place and running it. Hopefully the one that will keep the current staff comes through because Linda and Donna are excellent hosts. For what they are asking ($350,000), I can't believe its even available. If I had the time, I'd buy it myself for an investment. Either way, it will stay open and I'll continue to support it. Gotta go load up, staying there this weekend. See you on the trails.
Re: Cadillac Message Board
Brad,
Seems people like you can't support coyote crossings enough, they are in foreclosure and will be closing next month. Thanks for all your stays thier.
Re: Cadillac Message Board
I agree, lost pines is a dump. The only thing its good for is a trail permit or getting a good start on aquiring cancer with all the smoke. I've stayed in the rooms, and the house on the hill; terrible!!! Go to coyote crossings, like new cabins, restaurant/bar on premises and right on the trail! For the extra bucks, its worth it!
Re: Cadillac Message Board
Nasf was great, groomers did a wonderful job with the minimal amount of snow we had. My friends and I even attended the Nasf bash at the armory this year. Congradulations to the new Miss Nasf- Heather. We left at 10pm to head to our vacation home on Lake Mitchell and in the dark was a guy on a sled. We avoided a collision and saw the sled start and come after us. We stopped and it was a wexford county sheriff on a ski doo. He yelled at us as others have said on this site. Then gave all 4 of us sobriety tests- which we all passed. He appeared agitated that we were not drinking and threatened to ticket us for careless driving instead. After we all said he shouldn't be sitting in the dark and we would all fight the ticket he reluctantly let us go.
Re: Cadillac Message Board
Lost pines lodge will be lost soon.. just got back from there and was disappointed... No heat,no hot water, bad food, out dated rooms,... the list goes on.. poor service...
Re: Cadillac Message Board
why do people have to ask for a 'good deal'? Shouldn't the inn keeper give the best rates from the beginning? Sounds like a bad business practice if you ask me. give it a few more years, lost pines lodge probably will not be there any more or have new ownership who puts some money and TLC into it. God knows it need it.
Is the outdoor pool heated?
Re: Cadillac Message Board
While Lost pines lacks all the comforts of home, Rick will allow you to get that same room for about $50 if you ask. A can of Lysol is mandatory, and the food is just plain. Nothing fancy, but not horrible. It is located in the ideal spot, connecting to many trail outlets. Wish I had about 5 million to buy it. The houses and the Chalet's they have to rent are much better. just ask for a better deal, and you generally get them.
Re: Cadillac Message Board
right, it is just a place to stop for over priced gas, beer and some smokin' and jokin'.
most just get tanked there and then operate their sleds while intoxicated.
great, huh?
Re: Cadillac Message Board
MickeyOriley, sad but true.. Ive been coming up north for years and have thought the same thing...

Below: Snowmobile photos from the Cadillac Area. Check back for updates…
A collection of photos from Netride 1999 in Cadillac, Michigan. Anyone out there remember the Cadillac Netrides at the turn of the century? The first Netride was 1997 with internet sledders from across the midwest converging on Cadillac in the middle of January. I’ve got some more photos on an old computer. I’ll see if I can find them and post them online.
