Snow Accumulation: 20 inches
UPDATE:: Just received a report from two groomers one on the White Pine Trail and the other on the in-town trail indicating there was at least a foot of new snow on the trails today. They both said there was more snow than they knew what to do with. How great is that!!
The snow gauge shows a 6 inch snow fall last night but when you see what the high winds can do with that 6 inches you would think we got 2 foot in places. Area schools are closed today and people are encouraged to stay off the roads. The only place to be today in on your snowmobile enjoying this new powder. All our groomers will be running two routes daily in preparation for the North American Snow Festival this weekend in Cadillac. Ride safely.

TRAIL REPORT:
Get out and ride today if you do not work or have school! Last night’s storm brought about a foot of new snow here near Big Rapids. Trailering could be a problem until the roads are plowed. No warming trend in sight!
The White Pine trail is the former Railroad track stretching from Rockford to Cadillac. Not a challenging trail, but great for families with many towns to visit along the way.

Snow Accumulation: 16.5 inches*
The weatherman was right on this time. We received 5-6 inches of snow last night making a perfect venue for the early morning sledders. The groomers were all out last night setting the smooth base for the snow that fell throughout the night. It really doesn’t get any better than this. Hope you are in the area to enjoy it.

NEW SNOW: 3"-4"
TRAIL REPORT:
It started snowing late Friday night and there is about 3" of fresh snow this morning at 10am. Riding will be good from Howard City and north.
The White Pine trail is the former Railroad track stretching from Rockford to Cadillac. Not a challenging trail, but great for families with many towns to visit along the way.

I was trying to figure out how to get from Cadillac to Lake City. I am not totally sure, but think if you get to the trails by Lake City, those go far enough North that you can ultimately connect up through Kalkaska, and the trail systems South of Boyne Mountain. Then you have a clear shot to the bridge. I think. Getting to Lake City has been my question though.
Ground is turning white up here. Snowing hard. Won't be long now and we will be riding.
Never tried it before but would like to try a trip from my cabin in Baldwin to the Bridge this year. Never tried to get from the Cadillac trails to Manton or Boardman Valley trails. Is my best bet to get to Mesick and then head east on 14 mile road to Manton?

Sounds good. Perhaps they can spend some time cleaning up the pit toilets located at some of the trail head/parking lots in the national forest. I have heard that a lot of trash gets piled up in those outhouses.
Can you or someone else please post on this site the particulars of the clean up?

You can get in touch with the cadillac winter warriors. They have a website with phone numbers if its on on thier yet the date , time and location. We all usually meet at the entrance to hemlock park(hope we don't get in touble for it) . A dinner usually follows later that day. Let me know if you need more info.
I would love to help with the clean-up. When is it and will it be advertised in the local media? What shall we bring and where will we meet?
The Cadillac Winter Warriors always does a trail clean up on all of pole rd. Sure would like to have a one on one talk with Robert Bise as we pick up 98 percent of the trash from the people who live on pole rd. Hey Robert!!!! Care to show up and help out for a worthy cause?????
we all went riding on our ORV's today. had a great time. trails are in good shape for them. only ran into a hand full of snowmobiles.
Put a fork in it the riding is done for this year. No more trips out to lost pines, no cops at the four way, no hemlock park games and especially no more robert bise. Have a great spring everyone

Can we get the groomers to groom the shoulder of pole rd. I am getting tired of the rolloer coaster ride to get to the trails. How do we contact?? MSA??

Yes, Coyote Crossing did sell last Friday. The new owners seem to be very eager to begin improving the resort as well. They are adding wifi and dish tv to all the cabins right off the bat as well as begininng to put together specials and packages that will be directed towards specific interests.
And the story keeps growing.
I'm glad robert bise had the time to fact check our confrontation with the wexford recreation officer- after being stopped on the lake at 10pm Saturday on NASF weekend. He followed us off the lake (looks like he was heading in for the night) As we crossed the campground he met another sled (probably the other officer and they took off together- probably to head in for the night!)
WE are tired of robert bise also. On a more positive note- How are the trails holding up? I hear the snow keeps missing cadillac. Also Is it true coyote crossing has a new owner as of last friday?

The problem is that the message written by 'shorty' seems to be false. Here is why.
I was recently talking with an employee of the wexford sheriff department. We happen to get on the topic of snowmobiling. I asked if they knew if the snowmobiling deputy was working on the NASF weekend, specifically Saturday night at 10:00 pm ALONE. The employee looked into it and got back with me. Apparently the snowmobiling deputy was paired up during the night time hours and they ended their patrols around 10:00 pm in order to get back to the department and clock out at 11:00pm.
So, if you read the "true experience" of 'shorty', it just does not add up.
This blog is better than the comics section of the Sunday newspaper.
